About Julie Todd

My name is Julie Todd. I live in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the original lands of the Pennacook Abenaki people & also the land where the Todd side of my father’s family resides.

The nurturing & expansion of the spiritual life is what motivates me. Cultivating a relationship with plants set the stage for significant shifts in my physical & spiritual health.

I journal and practice meditation daily. I pray the rosary. I actively cultivate relationships with my ancestors as a means of personal and collective healing. I love altars.

I’m interested in if and how individual and collective spiritual life and religious traditions and practices are sources of oppression and violence and/or liberation and justice. I look for ways to resist systems of hierarchy and domination. I am learning and imperfectly embodying what it means to be in solidarity as a white, middle-class person living in a white, settler colonial state bent on destroying the earth and all the earth’s human and other-than-human inhabitants. I am working to undo my training in capitalist modes of productivity.

I met the moon in a Colorado valley desert. Learning its cycles also changed my life. I am an astrology nerd. I am practicing slowing down & rewiring my inner pace in relationship with natural cycles of light & dark, and the movement of the seasons and the stars.

I’m over twenty years sober. I talk about getting sober on the Byte Sized Blessings podcast.
